Comets' next head coach

A bit of info about the next head coach of the Houston Comets...

...Assuming the lead ownership group purchases the team (all signs point in that direction), the next head coach will posess certain qualifications. First, this may surprise you, the process for a head coach is already underway. Male and female candidates have been interviewed. The priority is to not hire a "re-tread". The NBA interviewing format is being used in this process which means the candidates are going through a two-hour (approximately) process answering questions including hypothetical situations which may arise as a head coach.

The new coach will not be hired based simply on his or her "name"; but, on his or her ability to communicate with the players as well as interact positively in the Houston community. While good "X's and O's"skills are important, they will not be the sole reason the coach will be hired.

Now, before you get up in arms about these qualifications, the consultant of the ownership group wants me to remind you Bill Laimbeer, head coach of the two-time WNBA Champion Detroit Shock, did not have previous coaching experience before he became coach in Detroit.

Lastly, the consultant told me the next head coach of the Comets will "provide a fresh approach to the organization and help move the Comets forward the next 10 years".
