Comets Games

Visit the Houston Comets' 2008 Schedule page.

In past years around this time of year, due to ongoing negotiations, not seeing a local tv station listed to air six regular season Comets' games was not a HUGE surprise. However, this season is different.

In addition to no games, thus far, being picked to be broadcast on a local tv station, no radio station is listed.

That's right Sports Radio 610 is not listed. The Comets' long standing deal with Sports Radio 610 as the team's flagship station expired last season.

I do know the Comets have had talks with one particular radio station. Can you guess?

It's KCOH 1430 AM (www.kcohradio.com). KCOH is the station I appear on a fairly regular basis as part of Ralph Cooper's Sports Rap show.

However, a deal between the Comets and KCOH has not yet been reached; and, it's possible a deal between the two parties may not be reached.

I'm not sure which other radio stations, if any, the Comets have had discussions; but, with the preseason opener just a few days away -- Thursday, May 1, on the road versus the San Antonio Silver Stars -- hopefully, an announcement will be made soon.
