Toyota Center 1 of 12
The Houston Chronicle's Joseph Duarte is reporting Toyota Center (and the city of Houston) is one of 12 sites under consideration to host the NCAA Women's Championship (better known as the Women's Final Four) for 2012 through 2016.
Mark Berman of Fox 26 Sports reported similar news weeks ago; however, some people may have missed Scoop's report.
In the past I've written a few articles / commentaries discussing my efforts and my desire for the city of Houston to host the NCAA Tournament's first two rounds; the Regional; and, ultimately, the Women's Final Four.
I've attended and covered the Women's Final Four -- in other cities -- since 2002; so, I truly, truly hope Houston receives a bid.

I thought before you receive a final four, you have to host other BB NCAA tournaments.

A city can receive a bid to host a final four then receive a bid to host earlier rounds.
It's a little backwards; but, I believe Reliant Stadium was awarded the Men's Final Four before it was awarded the Regional.

So what is up with Alexander - I thought all these years when you tried they weren't interested in holding that, Kris?
It would be great though. I would try to be there if they hold them. 4 years! That would be awesome.
I hope Alexander sells the Rockets and stays in Florida though.

I was told that about Les; however, just as important (if not moreso) is a different person is in charge of booking events than before and she's been very aggressive in trying to get a few women's college games in Toyota Center as well as the Final Four.
