PV names asst. coach; adds Houston high school Standout

PRAIRIE VIEW, TX -- New Prairie View A&M head coach, Toyelle Wilson, made two announcements Wednesday.

Coach Wilson announced Siarra Soliz, from Houston Chavez HS, will be heading to PV. Soliz, 5'9", averaged 23.5 points per game during her senior season at Chavez.

According to HoopGurlz on ESPN.com, Soliz has a grade of "81" and was ranked the 102nd guard in the United States.

Coach Wilson said, “I’m very excited for Siarra. She’s a versatile guard that can shoot the ball, create her own shot, and get to the basket. She’s the total package and exactly what we needed. She is one of the hardest working kids I’ve seen.”

In addition to that announcement, Coach Wilson also announced a new assistant coach has joined her staff as former Tougaloo College assistant coach Dawn Brown will join the Prairie View A&M University women’s basketball coaching staff for the 2010-11 season.

Brown spent the previous four years as the top assistant and recruiting coordinator at Tougaloo College in Jackson, Miss.
